About The Owner
In 2004, I purchased Performance Parts Express. I have been active in the business since that time. The business sells fire truck and crash truck parts, along with some ambulance and police car parts.
My customers are mostly fire departments, from small volunteer units to county fleets.
Since I had no real background in parts of any kind, it has been a long learning experience. As one of four brothers, and all gearheads of some level, the challenge may not have been as big as it could be for someone with little mechanical experience. But, I’m innately curious and always up to the challenge.
Before owning this company, I spent the better part of thirty years managing manufacturing operations and always spent much time in the plant. It helped give me have a good feel for the people and the equipment. Like most manufacturing settings, running the machines was how the company made money, so an important goal was to keep the machines running through practical employee training and consistent maintenance.
The importance of care carries over to fire trucks and making sure the trucks can roll when they are called into action. My goal at Performance Parts Express has always been to respond quickly to customer inquiries for parts or information and offer a wide array of parts. Hence, the customer only has to deal with one supplier and save time by allowing me to get it right the first time.
I have been married to Debbie since 1976 and we have lived in Uniontown, Ohio since 1978. We have one adult son. I have an undergraduate degree from the College of Wooster and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University. I stay busy with an exercise and walking program, reading, and maintaining my house and cars.
